Mission N.B. June 2016

July 12, 2016

Greetings Friends in Jesus Precious Name
We pray you are all well and praising the Lord, remember “the Joy of the Lord is your strength” Nehemiah 8:10. NIV
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths:
Proverbs 3:5,6 NKJV

I have learned this over the years, the sooner I can say in any situation “Thank you Lord for the opportunity to trust you” the sooner I get the peace of God even if it looks like nothing has changed on the outside. (I challenge you – Try it yourself, if you don’t believe me believe the results)

We got moved to our new apartment April 29 and on April 30 we went to meet Cal Maskery of Harvest House Atlantic , in London at the Ark Aid Street Mission were he was speaking. We went to talk to him about Overcomers and let him know we were going to New Brunswick and could we come and present it to him. He agreed.

We left for New Brunswick on a mission June 7 – 22 even though I can not walk unaided. We brought my cane, walker and scooter. It was an active trip.

A picture is worth a thousand words see them below with words.

I do have one story no two, I would like to share. Olive loaned us her van and Saturday night June 11 the night before we were to go to Moncton we stayed at her place. When Don went out to load up the van in the morning first of all it was raining on top of that the van had a flat tire, he came in and told me. Olive said what are you going to do. I said “I AM GOING TO TRUST THE LORD” I started singing “I GOT THE JOY, JOY, JOY DOWN IN MY HEART, DOWN IN MY HEART” and I said and I do too. She said I can see that.  She said Canadian Tire in Oromocto  is open at noon maybe you can get a new tire, she lives in Lakeville Corner. I went and did some book work with total peace and she did some laundry for us. Thank you Olive you are such a blessing. When her husband got up he put some air in the tire and gave us a spare tire that was not on a rim but said it was OK. They loaded the van in the rain and we headed for Oromocto. It took us better than half an hour because we could not find Canadian Tire and when we did the store was opened but no one in on Sunday to change a tire. We bought a can of that stuff that you can put in a flat for a short distance but we didn’t use it then. Don said what do you want to do. I said put some air in that tire we are going to Moncton. We had a quick lunch and in FAITH headed of for Moncton as we were to be at Harvest House for their 19 Anniversary at 5pm and we were to meet Chaplain Eden first. I called Eden and explained what was happening, he said we could meet for coffee when we arrived. We didn’t arrived in Moncton until about 4.30 because of the weather so he said he would meet us at our hotel. I called Olive and told her we were in Moncton, she said oh good you got the tire fixed. I said NO, she said you drove all the way to Moncton on a tire full of holes, I said YES I HAD FAITH, the reason it was full of holes is because they bought some crushed shale for the driveway and it was sharp and it put a bunch of little holes in the tire. She just laughed. I told her we would get it fixed tomorrow.   We check in to the hotel and  Eden & Carolyn told us they would direct us to Harvest House so we followed them and they went home. PRAISE THE LORD, I THANKED HIM ONCE AGAIN FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRUST HIM.

I would love to share more stories but most people would rather see pictures.

We were in Moncton Sunday night at Harvest House for their 19 Anniversary

Monday morning until after lunch for the Overcomers Leadership Training in Shediac at Naomi & Ruth’s, back to Moncton Monday night with Eden at Firewatch Ministries.

Tuesday morning back to Shediac till after lunch  then back to Moncton for dinner with Eden & Carolyn

Wednesday morning back to Shediac until late afternoon and finish the LTS, Francine prepared lunch for the three days for Her, and Norm her husband, Eden and Ben and Don and I.  Thank you Francine for all your loving kindness Dear One. After we finished eating I looked at Ben who is an ex inmate who had done 27 years and asked him if he would pray from an inmates point of view from the inside for Overcomers to get in Dorchester and all the prisons across Canada, he replied he never prayed before. I put my hand on his arm and said don’t worry the Holy Spirit will give you the words to say so he started to pray. Oh you should have been there, the Holy Spirit was and after he finished some of us were in tears. I put my hand on his arm again and thanked him and said it is going to happen, I don’t know how but it will because whatever is asked of the Father with two or more agreeing without doubting in Jesus Name it shall be done and just by your prayer I know it is done.

After lunch we all went  back to Moncton and Don and I headed off to Harvest House and join with them for diner with the people that come to Harvest House for diner and  to start the Overcomers LTS there. We were going to do it Wednesday and Thursday because we were suppose to be in St Stephen Friday for lunch but we needed to go back Friday morning to finish the LTS there, so we went to St. Stephen to meet with Michael and Cathy from Calais, Main for supper then met with Bruce and Karen after supper. Saturday day of rest at Bruce and Karen’s trailer at their camp ground.

Sunday off to St. Croix Church. Pastor Jody called me at 10pm Saturday night and asked me if I want to share for about 15 minutes in the morning. what an honor that was especially being Father’s day.

Monday we went back to Fredericton and met with Brent and went over Overcomers and asked what the chance was to get it into Dorchester and he said pretty good as they were just finishing a course. He said he would check. He called me after we got home and said it is a go. It is starting next month.

There is more but your safe for now, I am done for now and believe me it takes a lot to stop because the stories about what our Lord is doing is burning inside of me to tell, but I am also learning they can only take so much at a time.

PS God provided for our seconded printing of Overcomers from a Dear One who passed away in the States and her son who I volunteered under when he lived in Canada and his sister put in a word with he church and they donated the funds. Thank you to the Church and the family over five hundred lives will be blessed because of your obedience and kindness. To God be the Glory.

GOD HAS GIVEN EACH ONE A MEASURE OF FAITH, DEAR ONES PLEASE EXERCISE IT AND LET IT GROW. IT IS FOR EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES. TRY IT FOR YOURSELF AND YOU WILL SEE, DON’T GIVE UP PRESS ON THE LORD IS WITH YOU.

GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU

Hi Friends

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We have moved to our new location we are now at:
#306-575 Park Rd. N. Brantford, On. Canada N3R 0A7
phone # 1 (519) 805-9714.
We moved in with the help of my two sons (PRAISE GOD) and some of my youngest son’s motorcycle friends who call themselves I.A.M.B.K . I AM MY BROTHERS KEEPER. They just finished doing a fund raiser to send clothing, craft supplies and toys to a missionary in the Philippines http://www.ncclive.com/missions of the church we attend New City Church in Brantford, Ontario http://www.ncclive.com/. And a special thanks to Bell Cartage for the the truck. God bless them all in Jesus name.

They then moved Don and I and my son Tom came over and helped to unpack some things and move things around for us. It has been a difficult time but the Lord has been with us and proof was when a cross appeared on our wall and my son Tom saw it. It was not a reflection of anything we all checked inside and looked outside to see if it was a hydro poll or something. IT WAS THE LORD. Thank you Jesus. I took a picture of it and it has not been there again. He was confirming His presence with us.

Judy on scooter April 30 2016

I got permission to bring my scooter into the prison so I could go back in, I started going back in On April 18. It was my first long trip since getting out of the hospital March 11.

The first week Don and I stayed at a hotel the day before and the day of the prison we alternate with Tom and Charlie. The other times we have gone we drive up the day before and got to the prison from 2 – 730 or 8 pm then drive home. We were tired last time but PRAISE THE LORD for the privilege of being able to go in. There has been 23 Overcomers from the  2 prisons complete the program since April 18 including 4 on May 30. And we have had 22 new guys start.

Pray for us especially Don, he has an infection in his ankle that has been fused. He has to see a surgeon. We have seen three before over the years that have said if they had to go in and clean up any infection they would have to amputate but we are trusting God to keep us going. I was told I am a candidate for another heart attack and have to go for an angiogram but we are trusting God to keep us going. God didn’t save me from the last episode for nothing and we are not out of here until we have completed the work God has for us. We will glorify His name.

Pastor Ray, Tom, Don and I went to Goshen this new ministry by the Lion’s Safari, Goshen Renewal Ministries exists to bring hope, healing, renewal and transformation to men who suffer from spiritual, psychological, and/or emotional pain by learning the love and joy of Jesus Christ in a peaceful rural environment through Christian discipleship, professional counseling, practical life skills, and connecting to the community. There we met two other ministries ,   Corrine and Marion from Helping Hands Street Mission in Hamilton, and Christine from Urban Hope Street Mission in Cambridge

Christine started an Overcomers group 3 weeks ago and has 10 people and wants to start another group. The group is on Tuesdays.  Praise God.  services available Tue 9am-1pm (lunch 11:30am), Sun 11:30am-1pm, Provides emergency food hampers * provides free clothing and household items to those in need * serves lunch Tuesdays and Sundays * free haircuts * provides toys to parents in need on children’s birthdays * laundry and shower services.

Possibly one Overcomers group is going to start in Orillia, Don and I will meet with this couple Sunday and they will be observing our group at the prison on Monday.

The funny thing about this is some of the inmates were asking if there waS a group in Orillia as they were being release to a halfway house in Orillia so we prayed about it. Let us see what the Lord has planned. YEA GOD!

Finally God willing we will be going to New Brunswick June 7 – 22 and helping 3 groups with Overcomers in Moncton, a Community Chaplain, A men’s residential rehab and a women’s residential rehab.

Well that is about it for now God bless all of you.

See you here, there or in the air.

Miracle, I’m Alive, March 27, 2016

March 27, 2016

Hi Friends

First let me say I rejoice with you as you celebrate the resurrection of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.

For those of you, who are not aware of what has been happening since January, read on. And those who know this may include more detail.

It has been a long hall since the last update I went for my surgery at the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton on January 26 and that was the start of an adventure I did not expect. It was supposed to be 1 – 1 ½ hour surgery which turned out to be a 3 hour surgery with complications. The doctor told Don after that he was amazed I was even walking as I had no pelvic or hip bone holding things together. I was in Hamilton for 10 days and that was really stressful then I was transferred to Brantford Hospital on February 4th. I was on the 8th floor then I was transferred to Rehab on the 2nd floor on February 12th until I was finally released March 11th. A total of 46 days altogether and Don was there every day accept when he went to minister at the prison every other week.

Thank you Jesus, for Don’s patience and perseverance. Bless him abundantly Lord.

I had opportunity to pray, share the Lord and minister while in the hospital, it helped keep my mind off the pain I was going through.

The last hip replacement I had in 2001, I was told was good for 5 – 10 years but I pushed it to 15 ½ and the ball had worn through the cup and lining and ground away the pelvic & hip bone. The doctors had to build bone out of synthetic material. I lost blood, had a (M.I.) heart attack and stopped breathing. I had a DNR but I am still here. I was told that 1 in 10 people that go through what I went through die within 30 days. THE SPIRIT THAT RAISED CHRIST JESUS FROM THE DEAD RAISED ME! I guess what was ordained for me before the foundations of the earth has not been completed so I am here until my purpose is complete no matter what or who tries to stop it. As I have said many times I will be where He wants me, when He wants me there, to accomplish what He wants to accomplish for His glory then I am going home and not until then. Believe me when I say there are times I wish that was sooner because it has been a long hard life however if what I have or am going through will bring one person to or closer to the Lord than it is all worthwhile.

An occupational therapist came out to our place before I came home from the hospital to see how I could manage, but after once around she said you have to move. Between her and the hospital OT, and the social worker at the hospital they were able to get me the equipment I needed. The social worker at the hospital told us of an apartment that was only four years old and was a non-smoking building so we called it. We were told there was nothing available a two year waiting list but we qualified for a reduced rent apartment. Two weeks later she called us and we firmed up the apartment last Thursday. We are moving in on April 30.

Our new address as of MAY 1, 2016 will be:

#306 – 575 Park Rd. N, Brantford On. N3R 0A7.

Same phone number. 519 805-9714

By God’s grace we were able to break our lease with no penalty due to medical reasons. I am in a wheelchair/ scooter and walker. The doctor said it will take 6 months to a year to recover. BUT WHOSE REPORT AM I GOING TO BELIEVE? I SHALL BELIEVE THE REPORT OF THE LORD.

While in the hospital I asked Don to bring in my computer and portable scanner so I could do some ministry work between when the medication kicked in and wore off. The only thing I could not get in was my printer, go figure. With the help of the Lord and others I managed to arrange a graduation at the prison where 14 men, 7 from each the Minimum and Medium completed the Overcomers program on February 29. We have been in Beavercreek Medium for two years now and Beavercreek Minimum for one year as of this past February. We have had a total of 89 guys complete the Overcomers program and several are on their second or third time around because they love the program and the fellowship. We love all the guys. Some have been released and continue the program on the outside with some of our groups.

John and Pauline went in and did the music, and Don, Tom and Charlie did the graduation and presented the certificates to the inmates. The certificates were printed by Rachel the secretary at New City Church. GOD BLESS HER without her help we would not have had the certificates for the graduation. This is the first time that I was not at a graduation at the prison and it did my heart good to see that it could and would go on if I was not able to attend. I am so proud of the entire team. Thank you all.

I saw the surgeon on March 21 and asked if I could fly in June and he said yes so in faith when I got home I booked a mission trip to New Brunswick, we will be taking our mobility scooters as I cannot walk on my own yet. We will be going to Moncton to help a Community Chaplain with the Overcomers aftercare program and as usual whatever else the Lord wants and leads while we are down there.

Needs for the mission sponsors for Overcomers books for prisons, curriculum,  a projector with sound and a DVD player. If  anyone would like to donate to the mission or has this item they would like to donate or the funds to purchase it down there it would be greatly appreciated, you will receive a charity receipt for your partnership. You can contribute by mail, e-transfer or by credit card or PayPal for the mission or the DVD player and or projector at: info@zechariah4v6.com https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=4ZGF36TT8C7M2

Thank you so much for all your prayers that have helped us through this difficult time.

GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU.

Zechariah 4:6 Ministries Update

January 1, 2016

Greetings precious Friends, in the Name of our Savior & Lord Jesus Christ.

We rejoice with you in Mathew 1: 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” NIV

If it wasn’t for Jesus I don’t even want to imagine were I would be.

I pray you all had a Blessed Christmas & a Happy New Year. We pray you have a closeness to the Lord this year that you have never experienced in your life before as well as an abundance of joy.

For the Joy of the Lord is our strength. In these days we all need that strength, joy and closeness.

It has been a while since I sent out an update. I apologize for this. Let me bring you up to date.

We are settling in to our apartment in Brantford and with the church we are attending New City Church. I have had many doctors’ appointments and will be going in for hip surgery January 26, this month. I also have a torn tendon in my right arm that has to be dealt with as well. But in all this I am filled with the joy of the Lord at what He has been doing in our lives.

*Since our last newsletter in October, Don &  I had Thanksgiving dinner with my 2 sons something we haven’t done in over 16 years,  along with their girlfriends. Thank you, Jesus

*We have been training 2 more men for the prison ministry so we now have Don & I, Tom and Gail (Tom’s wife fills in when needed), Charlie & Scott. We had another  Graduation at the prisons Dec. 14 we had a total of 19 graduates with 17 at the medium & 2 at the minimum.  John and Pauline came in again and did music for the guys. They testified, sang Christmas Carols a great time was had by all.

*This makes a total of 66 men between the two prisons that have completed the Overcomers program since we started in April 2014. Praise the Lord, thank you Jesus.

*There are 3 Overcomers groups going in Brantford now and they had a Christmas gathering at the church. All groups came together.

We wanted to do a Mission of Love but do to health reasons I didn’t have the energy. I was so upset.

I prayed and God anointed me and gave me other ideas and help. We decided to make a light lunch for  after Christmas service Christmas day and God provided help to make about 200 sandwiches. We had a great time.  Christmas Eve we got together at the church and made the ham and cheese and cheese sandwiches. Don and I sliced up five hams the night before. We had done the shopping and ordered what turned out to be a beautiful cake that I designed on the computer and brought the picture I printed off to Sobeys and they did a great job.

Christmas Eve, making sandwiches provided by Zechariah 4:6 with a team of volunteers.  Thanks everyone

It has Matthew 1:21 on it.             This was Christmas day

After service Don and I took left over sandwiches and gift bags we made up with the candy cane story and a gift card from Tim Hortons and some chocolates to bless those we saw alone on the street. We gave out 15 bags and had a great time doing it. The people we all blessed and thankful.

DSC04099

To top off the day we had 13 people including Don & I for Christmas dinner at the Chinese restaurant for those alone at Christmas. They were so thankful they didn’t have to be alone and we all had a great time. For this we give A Big Huge Thank you to Jesus. And we didn’t have to prepare the meal and Don didn’t have to do dishes. YEA GOD!

Well everyone thank you for all you prayers, support and friendship, we could not do it without you.

Rejoice your reward is great in heaven

See you here, there or in the air

October 7, 2015

October 7, 2015
Hi Friends
I pray you are well in the Lord. I continue to pray for you.
We have been here just over two months and can you believe we haven’t even had time to completely unpack we have just been so active getting all the things changed that everyone has to do with every move.
Then all the doctors appointments, I went to see the surgeon about my hip on Sept. 28 and was told I need hip surgery. After all, I was told after the accident the replacement they gave me was good for 5-10 years so I guess I have done really good with pushing it to 14 + years. I was told I will have it in December or January unless an opening comes up sooner. It will be in Hamilton only a half an hour from here.
I go for a fibroscan this Thursday and get the results next Tuesday. I have been getting physio twice a week for my hip but that is finished now until after the hip surgery. Even with all this we are still able to serve the Lord and it is wonderful. Besides it keeps my mind off me when I focus on helping others. God is so good He can use you in what ever state you are in. Hallelujah!
We have been going to meetings and arranging Charles & Sharon’s visit which was from September 11-18 which included them speaking at the church, speaking at both prisons with a graduation there. Then the Overcomers graduation at New City Church where there were 125 people. Then a visit to Ark Aid Street Mission in London. We had altogether 24 graduates with all the groups. There was a bus load of Overcomers come from London. The church put together food for them. One of the guys that was to graduate from Ark Aid St. Mission Overcomers group was not able to attend as he was in the hospital in London so Charles, Don myself and Dan who Oversees the London groups went to the hospital and prayed with him and presented him with his Certificate. He was truly blessed.
Karl Burg and Ken Bates came from Goderich and Karl did music at the church, the prisons and the graduation. Thank you to everyone who helped. SEE PICTURES BELOW  Enjoy the pictures and rejoice with us what God is doing.
We have been training Tom and Gail to go into the prisons with us or for when we can’t make it, also they are a great help when they come with us. It is a 3 – 3 1/2 hour drive each way every Monday. Don drives up and Tom drives home. When just Don and I go we stay overnight as it is too much for Don to drive home. We usually leave our house at 8:30 am go meet Tom and Gail then head out. We stop for lunch then go into the prison for 2pm  and after both prisons we usually get back home around 11 – 12 pm and we are so excited in the Lord with what He is doing there.
Monday Tom, Don and I went and we had 55 men in the Medium and 20 in the Minimum, WOW 75 guys between both prisons! Praise the Lord. The chapel only holds 60. We have another graduation the middle of this month with 5 graduating and again the beginning of December with another 12 to graduate. Sept. 14 when we had the graduation at the prisons there were 61 men in the Medium and 30 in the Minimum. That’s a record. So far since we started going into the two prisons we have had 42 graduate the program. Thank you Jesus.
God answered prayer once again and I had my granddaughter with us for four days. Don and I were going to go to Niagara Falls for a couple of days as we had a free room and some food gift cards and free movies. Raven called me and asked if she could stay with us from Tuesday until Saturday and we told her we were going to Niagara Falls and asked if she would like to come and immediately she said sure. She had never been there. So we took her. We saw “WAR ROOM” together and went to Marineland and grandma here went on all the rides with her. We had a blast but my body was screaming at me the next day. I haven’t been on rides like that in over 20 years, it felt great to be a kid again.
I am trying to get month end and year end books and reports done and I haven’t even got my office unpacked totally yet and it looks like a storm in my office but I am working my way through it. Yea God!!!
Don is a trouper, being what he was nicked named at Samaria House in New Brunswick “chaffer, gofer dofer” and he enjoys it. He sure has a servants heart.
If anyone is lead of the Lord to partner with us and share in the rewards of what God is doing you may do so by clicking the link below or mailing it to the address below. Thank you.
MAY YOU ALL HAVE A BLESSED THANKSGIVING THIS WEEKEND GIVING THANKS TO THE LORD FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE, IS DOING AND IS GOING TO DO.

Remember:

Heb 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Well that is our update for now.
Thank you for your prayers & support.
May the Lord keep you and bless you and make His face to shine upon you and give you peace.
