N.B. Mission June 2017

Judy excited, Jesus is comming soon, Yea God!

Jesus is coming back soon, are you as excited as I am? Read on and see went on in NB.

June 5, Don and I headed to Toronto to stay at a friend’s overnight so we could be at the airport in the morning going to New Brunswick.  Thank you John and Angie.

It has been interesting to say the least, we got back from a mission trip to Jamaica Feb 22 and I went in for vascular surgery Feb.27 and was released the 28. On March 4 I was back in the hospital with high blood pressure until March 23. I spent Don’s and my twenty year anniversary in the hospital. Not the kind of you anniversary I had in mind but God’s ways are higher than ours.

April 12, I booked our tickets for New Brunswick. We would be going to Emmanuel Conference for two days and then doing an Overcomes graduation and a Leadership Training in Shediac at Ruth an Naomi treatment Center , and visiting Harvest House in Moncton were they started Overcomes last year. God willing if our clearance goes through we would be going to Dorchester Penitentiary.

It was a whirlwind couple of days getting ready to go, we didn’t even pack until Sunday after church to leave Monday. Friday I got an email from Overcomers head Office in Texas that a lady in Canada wanted to buy the Overcomers curriculum, all I had was her name and email. I contacted her and while e-mailing back and forth the Holy Spirit was prompting me to ask if she was in New Brunswick and she replied yes, Moncton. I informed her we would be there on the 12. I asked if she had ever seen the Leadership Training and she said no and proceeded to tell me she was at an Overcomers group that morning in Shediac and Francine had told her about how there would be one at her place and that is the one we would we doing. For sure that was God.

The day we flew out I was talking to Olive who is picking us up at the airport in NB and told her about this and and she said do you mean Irene from Water and Wine Assembly of Christians and I said yes, do you know her? Olive said I have met her but don’t know her. I see God’s hand all over this.

I told Olive that before we left I was miserable and just screamed out I want to die and then said I want my flesh to die and the Spirit of the Lord to emanate through me. Don, my husband prayed for me. He was dealing with the brunt of what I was going through and shortly after he prayed I was fine. PRAISE THE LORD. That was rough. I was ready to through in the towel and just quit. But thanks to prayer and a word from a friend I came through. I know when the enemy tries that hard to stop me from doing what God is leading, God definitely has a plan. At this point I don’t see the whole picture. At times my flesh doesn’t want to do what God is leading but it is not about what I want, think, or feel. IT IS TO BE, “GOD’S WILL NOT MINE”, so after battling my flesh, I choose to follow God’s plan. Remember in the Bible it says the flesh is at war with each other constantly.

For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. Gal 5:17 NIV

Boy am I learning that. But it is good to be able to recognize it.

When we arrived in Fredericton, Olive was there to pick us up and we went for lunch at Swiss Chalet. I invited 3 men from Ontario that were there for the conference also. We all enjoyed fellowship, one of the men paid for our lunch and went are way. We had noticed two Fredericton Police Officers having lunch at a table near us, as Don and I were leaving Don said I believe we are to pay for their lunch, I said you are right and our lunch was paid for so I went looking for their waitress. I asked a waitress if she was their waitress and she said yes so I told her we wanted to pay for their lunch. I said we don’t know them, we are from Ontario, don’t tell them who paid their lunch just say “Bless you”, she said she would and we left. While we were sitting in the van organizing things the police officers came up to the van and said you are the culprits aren’t you? I said I told her not to tell you, one of them said she didn’t, we just asked what table you were from and we recognized the man in the driver seat had been sitting at that table. Then he said “this was a Divine incident, we were just talking at lunch and God knew we needed encouragement, they thanked us, I said God was leading us and that’s how much he loves you. God bless you. They thanked us again and left. Boy did we feel great and what confirmation that it was God’s leading. Whenever God has us do something I have found it is always a blessing for the giver as receiver alike, it is never one sided.

Before we had left Ontario I had contacted Choice hotels were we are members to see about some missing points from a stay at one of there locations, after we got that straightened out the man asked if there was anything else he could do for me. I asked if we had enough points to stay at a hotel in Fredericton for a couple of nights they checked and gave me a choice of two I said the Quality Hotel on Bishop Dr. They told me 12,000 per night points and we had enough for two nights. I asked if the room had a couch and the man said I will give you the suit. Wow, Praise God! I checked later and that room was 30,000 points per night or $193.23 per night including tax. Thank you Daddy. We booked another room as we had people to meet after the conference, we had to change rooms we got a room with a chair , desk and bed for $130.00, tax & breakfast included. No picture of that room.

Don and I unpacked and went to conference. I was excited telling some people about our room that God provided. I said Lord it would have been nice if you would have given this to us at the end of the mission to relax before we went home, but I am not complaining at all we are very excited, thankful and love it.

At Conference there was one ordination, voting of new board members, the usual meetings, three services and fellowship it, is great to see people you only see once a year and see what God has been doing in their lives.

The first night of the conference we got an email from Francine in Shediac were we were to go and do the LTS and graduation asking if we could come on the 12 & 13, I told her we were trusting God for our clearance into Dorchester Penitentiary on the 13 and  I wasn’t booking anything that day but said we would come on the 12 & 14 and she agreed. We booked our hotel in Moncton for the 11th so we would be in Shediac for the Monday. When booking the hotel I noticed they had a special on “stay two separate nights for extra points” so if we stayed two nights each night at a different hotel we would have enough points for a free room. In Moncton there were two choice hotels across the street from each other one Comfort Inn and one Quality Inn so we changed hotels daily to save money.

Don & I went out for a wonderful lunch with Hazen and Corinne. Hazen is not in the picture he had not arrived yet. Thank you both very much.

We stayed at Olives for a couple of day and visited with a couple of people then on Friday we got an e-mail from Brent saying we got our clearance for Dorchester. Praise God. Sunday we headed down to Moncton.

We met Irene at Ruth & Naomi’s were Francine greeted us. What a small world! We started the Leadership Training and had some fellowship then went back to our hotel.

Grads, with Judy & Francine         LTS at the house          Irene & some of the ladies & Judy

Tuesday we were off to Dorchester Penitentiary, I was so excited in the Lord I had been praying for this for a year. We met the rest of the team from Prison Christian Ministries at the prison. There were 23 men in the Overcomers group in the afternoon and 43 in the Chapel service in the evening. (we met Chaplain Claude this is important).  We shared testimony at both in depth and an Overcomers lesson was led by Bill in the afternoon. It was great. We prayed with the men lives were being touched and there was a man there that knew the same people I did when I was 16. I was so excited at this opportunity God had given us. PLEASE PRAY FOR PROVISION for Overcomers books for Dorchester, the cost is $265.00 per case. If you send funds please signify it is for prison ministry, and send your information so we can issue you a charity receipt. Thank you.

Wednesday we finished the Leadership Training, Graduations and I shared my testimony with the girls at the house. I  also shared with Irene about the Prison Ministry at Dorchester and showed her the picture of the team and the Chaplain. She said he looks familiar what is his name I told her and she said him and his wife go to my church. Wow! After leaving Francine’s we followed Irene to her church to see where the next Overcomers was going to be then went back to the hotel.

That night I e-mailed Cal at Harvest House to let him know we were in town if he wanted to get together. The next morning I got up about 7 and went right to my computer which I do not normally do and there was an e-mail fro Cal saying he was having a meeting at 9.00 am and we were welcome to come. I woke Don up and said we have to pack and check out we have to be at Harvest House by 9. We didn’t even have time for breakfast.

We arrived at Harvest House at 8.55 Praise the Lord. Cal introduced us and had me share what is happening with Overcomers then had his Chapel service. I was blessed with his teaching and it was presented in a way that we could all understand. Thank you Cal.

After, he asked what we were doing next and I said we are on Gods agenda so he invited us to come to the rehab for the Overcomers class. He asked if I would like to lead it and I said no you go ahead. I am glad I did as I was able to pick up some ideas from Cal. We then were invited for lunch with the guys. Cal invited us back on Saturday as his daughter, Alisha had written a book called  “Like Father, Like Son” She was presenting it and had a book signing. I said we would try.  http://harvesthouseatlantic.org/

We then drove to St. Stephen were we met with Michael and Cathy from Calais Maine, Cathy and I used to go the jail in Machias, Maine together to minister. We then drove to Waweig and spent the night with Bruce and Karen, Karen was my first board member of Zechariah 4:6 Ministries in 2007. We left early the next morning to drive back to Moncton, then checked into the next hotel and on to the book presentation.

We want to thank Olive and Karen for putting us up at their place, and all those that provided a meal or two, Olive, Karen, Cal, Francine, Corrine, Lynda, Brian and anyone I have missed.

Sunday Morning, Fathers Day,  the Lord lead us to Water and Wine Church, they were not expecting us. We arrived in the parking lot, Chaplain Claude from Dorchester arrived at the same time. Small world. When we got in the church Irene greeted us and said she had been praying about were we would go and she was thankful we came there. She ushered us up to the front of the church and introduced us to Pastor Solomon, her son and to others.  I gave her a 5 minute promo of Overcomers that I was going to send her but had it with me. A few minutes later she said we are going to show the DVD and you can share. After service there was a Fathers Day BBQ and fellowship.

After service Don and I drove to Fredericton and God blessed us with two nights in the same hotel suite that we were in when we arrived, thanks to points earned by changing hotels nightly. Yea God! thank you for your favor. We appreciate you. We had a meeting the first night with Bill going over Overcomers material. We also got a call from someone we knew from the Victory Center in 2008 saying her pastor asked her just the past Wednesday if she would do an ladies Overcomers group. YEA GOD! I see the thread of God through this entire trip.

Proverbs 3:5-8 (NIV)

5) Trust in the Lord with all your heart; 6) and lean not on your own understanding; 6)in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. 7) Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. 8) This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

My prayer is we all have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to us and showing us and that we do as it says in James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what is says.

God bless you all in Jesus Name and may you see the thread of God in everything you do. Look for Him in it all and you will see.

April 18, 2017 update
Greetings my Friends in the Name of our Precious Lord  and Savior Jesus Christ
Our God is an awesome God. Amen!

Since my last update Jamaica Mission 2017 much has happened. Some of you know but most do not. On Feb, 27 I had vascular surgery and had three stints put in so I would have more circulation in my legs. Praise God I went home from the Hamilton General hospital on Tuesday Feb. 28 and I could actually walk with my walker without pain in my legs.  March 4, I ended up in Brantford hospital  with high blood pressure and remained there until March 23. I was in hospital for Don’s and my 20th wedding Anniversary, but he was with me. Someone sent me a beautiful flower arrangement as a get well gesture and it arrived on our anniversary, how wonderful that was. I got out of hospital the next day.

I had so many tests and was in bed of three week less a day. I was so shaky from the multiple medications and treatments and I left the hospital worse than I was when I went in but the time I was in there I spent sleeping and praying. Don was there daily except when he went to the prison or bank for me. I  thank the visitors and I also  thank our prison team and Overcomers teams for continuing on while I was out of commission. Everyone told Don not to bring my work to the hospital and He didn’t except for me to write a check to pay ministry bills.

I have had to go to the doctors weekly and have more tests to help get things under control and this is the second week that I don’t have to have medication changed. Yea God.

Thank you Don, Tom, Charlie, Kathy, Marietta and your helpers. You are servants of the most High God. Great is your reward.

I went to the prison last week on April 10 for the first time since before Jamaica they had all been praying for me and were happy to see me. There have been 16 graduations, 16  new students and two transfers since Feb. 27. YEA GOD! We will be going up again April 24, God willing.

In Faith we have booked tickets to go to New Brunswick June 6-20.  Conference June 6 -7 , Moncton, NB. June 12-15  to visit the Overcomers leaders and present certificates for graduates also St. Stephen and possibly  Nova Scotia. This is all God willing and with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. We can do absolutely nothing by ourselves but WITH GOD NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE! AMEN AND AMEN!!!!

When you get knocked down get up and keep getting up, no matter what your situation GOD will anoint and empower you to do what He has called you to do and send you help. Even when you are down you are anointed to pray for others and thank God for the rest.

Commit you way to the Lord and He will direct your path. Humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up.

The Lord Bless You and Keep You and Make His Face to Shine Upon You and Give You Peace.

See you here, there or in the air.

Feb. 25, 2017

Greetings everyone in the Precious Name of Jesus

This is the report of our trip report I pray it is OK.  I  had a procedure at the hospital today and a doctors appointment this afternoon and I am going for vascular surgery this Monday, I have to be at the hospital at 6 am. Prayers are appreciated. Thank you.
Don & I  arrived home Feb. 23, 2017 at 11.pm. The team members Val, John and Pauline had a nail biting drive home in dense fog but by the grace of God everyone got home safely.
I didn’t have time to send an email while I was away as the trip was pretty full.
We arrive Monday Feb. 13, Don’s and my phones had expired so we had no way to contact our driver, one of the men at the airport let us use his phone.and we  got in touch with our driver and got the bus to the apartments. We stopped on the way for supper and then to pick up groceries. When we arrived Val and John and Pauline got there apartments. Someone was to meet us at our but never showed up until 2 1/2 hours later after our driver thank God made many calls. The lady thought we were coming in the next day.
Anyway all worked out well Praise the Lord.
The next day we went shopping to buy men’s  underwear for the St. Catherine’s district prison, we purchase 80 to go along with what was brought by the team. We also get new sim cards for our phones.
Wednesday we went to Richmond Farm Medium prison for men, however Pauline did not come with us a she got ill from something she ate the night before and could not join us. It was a wonderful time but would have been better with Pauline there. The Superintendent gave us a bag of coconuts to take with us and had a guard with one of the inmates and a machete  come out of the jail and cut some open for us to enjoy on our way and we had some to take back to our apartment with us.
-Thursday we went to St. Catherine’s Maximum prison for men in the morning and Fort Augusta Prison for women in the afternoon.
-Friday the team had the day off to enjoy the pool and Don and I went to buy underwear for the Boys at Hill Top boys Jail. We purchases 40 to go with the 30 that the team brought with them.
-Saturday we had a fellowship dinner with some of the locals and celebrated Don’s 65 th  birthday.
-Sunday we went to church.
-Monday we went to the Overcomers graduation and 26 people graduated and one became a certified instructor and another became a program director. We know have 4 Program directors on the Island and 9 Certified Instructors, Praise the Lord.
-Tuesday We went to Hill Top Boys jail , then the prison team and the drivers went for a lunch at Sharkies. In 17 years of going back and forth to Jamaica Don and I had never been to or heard of Sharkies, everyone enjoyed the food and the fellowship. When we returned back to the apartment Don and I went to the grocery store and met Pastor Maxo and his family to purchase food for the school. There are 40 children at the school and if they don’t get that one meal a day at school a lot of them don’t eat. We bought $500.00 Canadian worth of food. 200 pounds of rice, 100 pounds of Chicken parts, 100 pounds of peas, some chicken spice, pasta & sauce fruit drink and oil. Praise the Lord and again thank you for the donations of funds to be able to purchase this.
We flew home Wednesday.
As a team we were able to distribute all that was brought & bought by the team, tooth brushes and tooth paste, underwear, glasses, Satisfy the Hunger books, Challenge Newspapers, tracts, shampoo, cream rinse and lotions., Bibles, magazines, tracts etc.

LUKE 1: 37 “For nothing is impossible with God.”

From: brent@prisonchristianministries.com

Today our team of volunteers consisting of Mike, Steve, Bill, Trudy, Sherry, Jim H, and Jim L , & Becka, heads out on a two hour drive from home, with Tony joining us as we near our destination. It is mid December, a time of year some folks would call, “the most wonderful time of the year.” But, for the incarcerated and their families it can be the worst. We feel the Christmas spirit in the air, and are hoping to take some of that into the institution, to bring “good cheer” to the folks

This is a two-visit day starting with an afternoon session, a bible study of sorts. We are on lesson two of the “Overcomers Course”. A Christ-centered 12-Step recovery program, it helps men and women escape the bondage of life controlling issues. Consisting of a daily workbook, plus a video teaching, we present the video and supporting lesson, giving the inmates the opportunity to review their bookwork with the video content. We have a very interested group who have insightful inquiries, and we are able to help and encourage them.

Once the video is completed, we begin discussion. As the instructor looks on, he can see the men are in rapt attention. The room is quiet for such a group, they have settled down, are focused on the course material and taking notes. This is a good thing. They have questions about why they do the things they do. These are important questions, not just for inmates in a penitentiary, nor an addict in a recovery centre, but also for anybody who has a life controlling issue. It is wonderful to see them realize they are finding help with their issues. It brings hope, encouragement, and confidence they can get better. Our time goes by quickly, and as our visit ends, the group is pumped, they’re laughing and shaking our hands. There are even remarks like, “I just love this program, thank you for introducing it to us, this makes us feel good”.

We head out for a much-needed rest, have a bite to eat, and plan for part two of our visit. This evening, we do the Christmas story, a team effort by Bill & Jim, punctuated with beautiful Christmas music by Becka. The music couldn’t be better, and when we finish the men are very contemplative. Next, Mike, our President, gives the Ministry address for Christmas, then turns things over to Tony. We consider him our evangelist, he has a heart for souls. Mike feels to do this, and we are glad he did. Tony’s call goes into action, and when he brings in the net, we see hands going up for salvation, not one soul, but many! A difference has been made tonight! Some will remember tonight for the rest of their lives as “The most wonderful time of the year”! I know we will! Before our service ends, Mike has the team come forward, and we sing “We wish you a Merry Christmas” to the group. As we leave, we bask in the glow of His presence! Souls Saved! Mission accomplished!

Traveling home, we see houses and churches down in valleys sparkling in the dead of night, lit by the glow of Christmas lights, and the thought comes to mind, “Oh Little town of Bethlehem how still we see thee lie”. The star of Bethlehem shines brightly and leads our journey all the way, safely home. Blessings…Bill

Merry Christmas and Update Dec. 2016

Special Christmas Greetings to all.

Here is what Christmas is  all about……

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.  Isaiah 9:6 KJV

“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter— when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? Isaiah 58:6-7 NIV

Let us help one another in any way we can this season and all year round. Big or small everyone can help someone, it brings glory to God and makes both the giver and receiver alike experience a feeling of joy and thanksgiving.

Psalm 100:4 says  `- Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.`

Amen! Brothers and Sisters. Let`s all Glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ……

We like most others have been very busy or active lately. There is so much to do and it seems not enough time. We need to stop and reflect on what and why we are doing what we are doing and ask if this is bringing Glory to God and helping each other.

Two more Overcomers groups are starting. One in Prince Albert Sask. and one in Aylmer, Ontario. Thank you Lord bless them and increase their ministry.

We are blessed with the ongoing Prison Ministry and the half way house. We are having our biggest grad yet next week at Beaver Creek with 1 in the minimum and 11 in the medium. We will be starting a new group in the medium January 9, 2017 God willing.

Dec. 1 we had a Leadership luncheon at Swiss Chalet with Dan from London, Christine from Cambridge, Kathy and Marietta from the two groups at New City Church in Brantford also Tom, Pastor Ray and  Don and I. It was wonderful to hear the stories of what God is doing. Kathy had stepped away and didn’t get in the picture. Thank you for all your help everyone in touching peoples lives.

Later in the afternoon Don and I got together a box of testimony books, Satisfy the Hunger books and candy canes and took them over to Brantford Jail and gave them to Chaplain Matthew. Thank you Lord.

dsc04472 dsc04471

We had our Overcomers Christmas pot Blessing dinner Thursday night at NCC Café.  Thank you Pastor Ray for letting us use the Café and for joining us. Everyone was so helpful. Every one joined in to set up, enjoyed each others company, ate, cleaned up and shared the leftovers and went their way. It was a joy. We had 7 gifts that we drew numbers out of a hat for. 5 were a Tim’s card and a discount coupon book, one was a turkey and cooler bag and the big one was a box of chocolates and a $50.00 gift card. The person that got the turkey didn’t have one and the person that got the chocolates and gift card was double blessed because it was her birthday. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

This is the design I put together and took to

Sobeys to have put on the cake. Everyone enjoyed it.

Tonight, December 16, we are having our fourth Movie night at the community room in the building we live.

Please pray for us with our van, we had to get new snow tires and the summer ones are finished we don’t have any. This week coming we have to get the tailgate fixed the rust is worn right through $600. – $800. to repair so the exhaust does not come in. The air condition died last summer and was not repaired. We need a van to do the ministry we do, so pray the Lord provide for us to keep it going or provide a new one. I trust Him so thank him with me.

Christmas Day we will once again be having Christmas Dinner at Kings Buffet at 3pm on Lynden Rd., for those alone at Christmas or anyone that wants to join with us. The cost for the group meal, a hot and cold drink, tips and gratuities is $29.00 each.  Call 519 805-9714 please if you are coming so we can reserve you a seat. If you would like to sponsor someone who can not afford to pay please let us know.

Our God is an Awesome God and we rejoice in the privilege of being used of God in spite or our infirmities.

In the new year hopefully after we return from our mission trip to Jamaica, I will be going in for angioplasty, hopefully that will be successful as the doctor said that this is a start and if that doesn’t work it will be a bypass. BUT GOD!!! And like I keep telling all these Doctors, “I am not out of here until God is finished with me”

So onward Christian Soldier by the grace of God and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Rom 4:20

Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,
